Rachael Levy
Founding Partner
Rachael is a passionate lawyer, zealously defending her healthcare clients in all phases of the litigation and the pre-litigation process. She focuses her practice on the representation of health care institutions, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in both litigation and disciplinary actions before their respective licensing boards.
Since 2007, Rachael has defended her clients and acted as their trusted advisor through complex legal proceedings, handling every step of their litigation processes through jury trials in both federal and state courts. Additionally, she represents physicians and nurses before the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing. She has been fortunate to represent clients that inspire her to honor their hard work through her own and practices with the upmost dedication to her clients. She has also been appointed as Guardian Ad Litem in civil settlements by 10 judges in Harris County.
Rachael spends her time volunteering for organizations that benefit the Houston community. She is Co-Chair of Greater Houston Society for Healthcare Risk Management’s Education Day Committee and is a member of the Houston Bar Association. She is a Board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet of The Jewish Federations of North America, and a founding member of Houston’s Heights Kibbutz. Most recently, she joined The Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine as well as the Menil Contemporaries. She is a gym and tennis enthusiast, and her favorite vacation is to the mountains of Colorado.
Experience:
• Represented physicians and nurses before the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing.
• Defended two bariatric surgeons to verdict in a federal jury trial.
• Won a jury verdict trial and served as second chair for a trial that settled during voir dire for $2.5 million dollars.
• Argued motions in limine in a radiology malpractice case that was dismissed prior to the start of trial.
• Represented neurosurgeon in a Harris County trial to verdict.
• Argued multiple Motions to Dismiss in Harris County based on insufficient Chapter 74 expert reports.
• Formulated strategies with healthcare clients to achieve successful outcomes in lawsuits from inception through trial as well as pre-litigation claims.
